First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs

Many of you have seen the beautiful painting by New Orleans artist Billy Solitario that hangs in the narthex of our sanctuary. The concept for the work was Jesus’ miracle of feeding the multitude with a young boy’s lunch consisting of five small loaves of bread and two fish.

“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” – John 6:9

The miracle of multiplication became a theme for our campus expansion project.

Solitario reimagined that miracle happening in our community. The use of mullet and small French loaves are a way of saying that the multiplying work of Christ is still happening here.

We are now auctioning off Solitario’s two studies for his “Multiply” painting, and the winning bid on each painting will support the First Presbyterian Church MULTIPLY campus expansion project.

The auctions will close on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 11:59 PM.
